Ms Phyllis – Assistant Teacher – Redwoods

Hello Sprouts! I’m Ms. Phyllis. I recently graduated from Western Illinois University with my BA in communications. I played soccer for my university, and was apart of my schools track and field team. As you can tell I’m a very active and energetic person, which is important with this age group.

I am very excited to be apart of this program. I have an extended history of working with children ages 6 and below. I was fortunate enough to have my year long internship in a first grade classroom, where I was an aid along side the lead teacher. My teaching background also includes camp counseling, after school teachings, nannying, as well as coaching children’s soccer.

One fun fact about me is I love to bake! I’m also a fan of nature and being outside. My favorite things to do with children is reading great books and teaching amazing arts and craft projects.

I am a very nurturing and believe one of the greatest gifts in life is to see children grow
up to be the best they can be. I am excited to see all the children blossom in to the stars
that they are, and I am looking forward to the successful positive year ahead.
