Ms. Christa – Assistant Teacher
Hi, my name is Christa Tucker and I’m so thrilled to become part of the Sprouts family!
I grew up in western Pennsylvania and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education for Grades K-6. After graduation, I worked for an extended day program for 2 years in the Pittsburgh area which included planning and preparing lessons for kindergarten students. Working with these students was very interesting because I was able to see their active imaginations at work. There was never a dull moment and they definitely kept me on my toes! Warm weather eventually drew me to Florida where I accepted a third grade teaching position. During my eight years in Florida, I taught third and fourth grades and was a nanny for two beautiful young ladies. Since our school was on a nature preserve, we were able to explore wildlife in their natural habitat while walking the trails on our school campus. This was an amazing way for the children to learn science and social studies concepts.
I believe that learning through exploration is best and that’s why I love to travel in my spare time. It’s interesting to discover the various cultures and histories around the world. France, Italy, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Mexico are some of the places that I’ve explored.
Last June I married my wonderful husband Chris who is a Chicago boy through and through. We recently moved back “home” to the Windy City. I am enjoying my new home and love taking part in the many activities the city has to offer.
I’m very excited to begin a new teaching journey at Sprouts and can’t wait to meet all of you!
